With Meghan and the kids?
Harry will stay in London until the funeral

There has been a strained relationship between Prince Harry and his family since his retirement as Senior Royal. He would hardly have contact with his brother and his father, the new king. Still, the 37-year-old is likely to remain in London until Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Prince Harry has returned to London in the morning after traveling to Balmoral yesterday. There he said goodbye to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The British monarch died on her Scottish estate at the age of 96. The Duke of Sussex is now heading back to Windsor where he will meet his wife, Duchess Meghan, at Frogmore Cottage. Will he stay in the UK until his grandmother’s funeral?

Prince Harry drove to Aberdeen airport, according to The Sun. He landed at London Heathrow Airport around 11:30 am. The Sussex’s close friend, Omid Scobie, confirmed via Twitter that Harry was on his way to England, declaring: “He will of course remain in the UK during this time.” British media also assume that Harry will stay. The question is whether this also applies to Duchess Meghan. The 41-year-old also did not go to Scotland. Whether their children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, will join them in London remains to be seen.

Tense relationship with family

King Charles III and his wife Camilla are also on their way to London after leaving Balmoral this morning. Prince Harry flew alone to Scotland last night, but is said to have not arrived until after the Queen’s death. According to the Daily Mail, only her eldest children Charles and Princess Anne were with her.

Other relatives, including Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Prince William, are said to be on their way to Balmoral, Scotland at the time of death. William’s wife, Duchess Kate, stayed in England with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis aged nine, seven and four.

Harry and Meghan, who have lived in the United States since 2020, are currently traveling to Europe. Manchester was the first stop for the two. After her visit to Düsseldorf, there was another stopover in the United Kingdom. It will be the first time the two have visited Harry’s home since Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations in June. Relations with the rest of the family are said to have been strained since stepping down as senior royals.
