People keep queuing for the queen

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, thousands and thousands of people took to the streets of Britain to pay their last respects to their monarch. After a break, the queues are now rising again: at Windsor Castle people want to see the final resting place of the Queen.

The queue is back. Hundreds line up again to pay their last respects to the Queen. This time, people wait outside Windsor Castle to see Queen Elizabeth II’s grave in the George VI Memorial Chapel. As “Daily Mail” goes on to report, the royal fans come from all over the country and other parts of the world.

Windsor Castle was closed to the public after the Queen’s death on September 8 in Balmoral Castle, Scotland. On Thursday, the gates opened again for visitors for the first time.

On opening day, the queue in the grounds of Windsor Castle stretched from St George’s Chapel to the outside of the building. There are signs on many of the posts and pillars that say “No Photography”. Inside the chapel, the crowds crowded along the walls and past the tombs of other princes.

After circling the front of the building, the waiting entered the back of the chapel. There lies Queen Elizabeth II in a crypt to the left behind a black balustrade, her tombstone is black with gold letters. According to the report, several wreaths of flowers in different colors still adorn the final resting place of the queen, her husband, sister and parents.

The official homepage of the palace complex states that “St. George’s Chapel is open on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but cannot be visited on Sundays as it is only open for services”. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm (last admission).
