It was just a small bump, Khloé Kardashian explains. But the skin changes on her face just didn’t go away. An examination by the doctor then provides the certainty: it is a tumor that must be removed immediately.
Khloé Kardashian has been diagnosed with skin cancer. A tumor had been removed from her face, the 38-year-old revealed to her followers in an Instagram story. At the same time, she wanted to comment on “the numerous rumours” revolving around the spots on her face she was last seen with.
“After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as small as a pimple, I decided to take a biopsy seven months later,” Kardashian said. After all, she hadn’t noticed any change in the bump in all that time.
A few days later, she was told to have surgery immediately, Kardashian said. Then the tumor was removed. “You will continue to see my patches and you will probably see a scar (and a dent in my cheek from the tumor that was removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fantastic I make these patches look,” jokes the reality TV star.
“Please take this seriously”
Kardashian also uses her statement to call on her fans to get checked regularly. She also explains that it wasn’t her first skin surgery: “I had a melanoma on my back when I was 19, and I also had surgery to have it removed.”
She wears sunscreen every day, but “no one is immune to these things,” Kardashian points out. Her appeal: “Please take this seriously and do regular self-examinations and annual exams.”
In the end, Kardashian ends her post optimistically. “I’m so thankful we realized that early on. I was lucky – all that’s left is a scar to tell a story with. Most people aren’t as lucky as I am and I’m eternally grateful,” was her conclusion.
Khloe Kardashian is Kim Kardashian’s sister. Like other members of her family, she was best known for the reality TV series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”.
