Will Lea Seydoux return as Madeleine Swann?

The old Bond is stepping down and a new one is still in the making. But the woman standing next to Daniel Craig in the last lane can imagine a return. Of course, French actress Seydoux admits that this is pure speculation.
Bond fans around the world are speculating who will succeed Daniel Craig. Meanwhile, Léa Seydoux wonders if her character Madeleine Swann might be returning for the next 007 movie. Seydoux appeared in this role in James Bond 007: Specter and James Bond 007: No Time to Die, the two most recent installments in the cult series. “After all, I’m not dead,” the French actress told industry portal Deadline during the Telluride Film Festival. “James died, not Madeleine. So who knows? Maybe I’ll come back. There’s a new Bond coming because Daniel’s Bond died, but who can say Madeleine won’t come back?”
Of course, this statement is pure speculation, the 37-year-old herself explains. She has so far not spoken to Bond producer Barbara Broccoli about a possible return. There is still a lot to do before we get to the point where we can talk about it. At the same time, however, the actress also showed that she is open to a return.
James Bond has been reinvented
In June, Broccoli told the portal that it will be a long time before a new Bond is found and the next film hits theaters. The producer stated that it will be “at least two years” before the shooting of the next 007 film starts. The search for a Craig successor hasn’t even started yet, as “a reinvention of Bond” is in development.
Fans have been debating who could replace Craig in the new film for months. Names like Regé-Jean Page, Henry Cavill, Aidan Turner, Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy were mentioned. Rumor has it that Idris Elba doesn’t want to be the cop. According to Britain’s The Sun, an insider revealed in August that the actor had pulled himself out of the race: “Fans and Barbara wanted Idris, but he wants to create something for himself,” the newspaper wrote.
