Six-time MotoGP World Champion, Spain’s Marc Márquez (Honda), will start Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix from pole position, while Championship leader Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) will start from ninth position.
Márquez, who returned to competition last weekend after a three-month absence due to surgery on his right arm (the fourth in two years), claimed his first pole position since 2019, also achieved at the Motegi circuit in Japan. Going into this 16th (of 20) test, Quartararo has a 10-point advantage over Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who will start from 12th place.
