LIVE Elections 2022: Minute by minute the evolution of the national elections

More than 24 million Peruvians will attend today, Sunday, October 2nd Local and regional elections 2022 electing more than 13,000 new local and regional governments from across the country. That National Electoral Jury (JNE) reported that fines for non-participation this Sunday range from S/23 to S/92, while fines for non-participation or refusal to serve as a polling station member are S/230. These economic sanctions will be applied in accordance with the table of electoral fines, updated using a classification by location and degree of poverty established by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) and loud control unit (UIT) valid until 2022.

More than 500,000 polling station members come to their polling stations nationwide to fulfill their civic duty. They will be responsible for setting up polling stations across Peru. ONPE recommended everyone to arrive minutes before 6am to allow enough time to set the tables and allow the more than 24 million electorate to vote.

The public transport timetable for today, Sunday 2 October, will be covered at 100% due to the mobilization of around 24 million voters who will go to their polling stations nationwide. In the case of Lima, the Urban Transport Authority (ATU) announced the Metro and Metropolitan opening hours.
