Mike Jackson hit back today at fighters who called him out, wondering why if he’s so bad they want to fight him.
Mike Jackson is perhaps best known as the man who was destroyed by Mickey Gall or who destroyed CM Punk. He failed to finish the pro wrestling superstar and was seen as taking the fight less seriously. His now infamous bolo shots angered many, including UFC President Dana White. Since that fight, Jackson has been subjected to several calls.
In his last fight, he beat Dean Barry by disqualification, in a shock bout that saw Barry released from the UFC for his performance. Barry shot the groin and fought his way to a loss, with Jackson picking up the win. Jackson now returns to face Pete Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 62.
As Jackson opened up about the strange predicament of Rosas Jr, the show’s newest prodigy pretender, he had this to say to TheAllStar on how he can relate to the 17-year-old.
“The Fighters Within [The UFC] already won’t want to fight him [Rosas Jr], which is weird to me. But I will take myself as an example. You got all these people saying I suck, you can’t fight, whatever, okay. Then they’ll say “Oh, I want to fight him” to go to the UFC. So you just think, it doesn’t even make sense. If I suck, then why do you want to fight me?
Mike Jackson argues that leaves them very little room after the fight.
“What comes after me? Crazy killers, right? If you talk about being the best and being the champion, and that’s what all these fighters are talking about. They talk about it outside the cage. Except me. I’m probably one of the only guys here for the s**** and the laughs.
Mike Jackson explained why if he took the sport seriously, he wouldn’t report himself. “If I think about it from a standpoint where I want to be the best, you don’t want to fight the worst guy on the roster.”
