On this day five years ago, Michael “The Count” Bisping had harsh words for his future opponent Georges St-Pierre.

UFC 217 has often been called one of the greatest UFC pay-per-view events of all time. In the headlining bout, Bisping was set to defend his middleweight championship for the second time against former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

St-Pierre would go on to win that fight by submission, and he hasn’t competed since. In recent news, St-Pierre named the two fights he wishes he had before his retirement.

As for Bisping, The Count only had one more fight in a loss to Kelvin Gastelum a few weeks later.

In the following article, you can relive some of the build-up to the Bisping/GSP fight, including the Brit calling his Canadian opponent a “fraud”.

Title: Michael Bisping: Georges St-Pierre is a fucking fraud

Author: Fernando Quiles Jr.

Michael Bisping thinks Georges St-Pierre is convinced he is in for an easy fight when he returns to competition.

On Nov. 4, Bisping will defend his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight title against St-Pierre at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The middleweight clash will headline UFC 217.

In a recent appearance on MMAFighting.com‘s “The MMA Hour,” Bisping said St-Pierre’s comeback was wrong:

“The problem with Georges is where he screwed up: Georges fell into the trap that a lot of people fall into, and that trap is that he thinks he can beat me. A lot of people watch me on TV and say, “I can beat this guy. Look at the way he fights,” and this and that. But when they come with me, it’s something else. You see, George describes himself as this martial artist, which he is, but the story that surrounds Georges is that, ‘oh, this guy, he’s coming out of retirement after four years and he’s going to move up a weight class and fight the champion. is unbelievable. He has bigger balls than Canada.’ »

“Le Comte” went so far as to say that St-Pierre is not the man everyone thinks he is.

“But the truth is, he’s doing this because he thinks he can beat me. We trained together a long, long time ago and then he beat me. I didn’t know of a double leg from a Big Mac. So he still thinks he can outsmart me and beat me. He didn’t want to fight Anderson Silva when he was champion. He didn’t want to fight Luke Rockhold when he was champion. So he sees me as easy prey. That’s why he focuses so much on my fight. And for all this talk, I say that Georges is an impostor. And Canada, which sees him as its champion – Canada’s champion is going after fraud.
