Model Shermine Shahrivar was born in Tehran before coming to Germany with her parents as a child. However, the protests in Iran still show their full solidarity. She now makes that clear with an impressive sign.
The “Tribute to Bambi” charity event was born around the “Bambi” media award 21 years ago. It is dedicated to needy children who are ill, mentally injured or economically disadvantaged. Model Shermine Shahrivar used the stage at this year’s event, which focused on the war refugees from Ukraine, this time for a different message.

The 39-year-old appeared at the gala in a strapless black dress. She had drawn a number of letters with a red pen on her décolleté and her arms. On her arms were the words “Freiheit” and “Freedom”. “Azadi,” the Persian word for freedom, was written on her chest.
Along with Shahrivar on the red carpet were film producer and screenwriter Minu Barati. The wife of former federal foreign minister Joschka Fischer is the daughter of an Iranian opposition politician. Together, the two women also held a sign with the slogan “Free Iran” in front of the camera.
French women cut their hair
With the action, Shahrivar expressed her support for the current protests against the regime of the mullahs in Iran. After the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini three weeks ago, mainly women in the country took to the streets to resist their oppression.
Other stars have also expressed their solidarity with the women’s movement in Iran. In France, more than 50 actresses and other celebrities cut their hair as a sign of support. Among them were Juliette Binoche, Marion Cotillard, Isabelle Adjani, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Isabelle Huppert and Jane Birkin.
Shermine Shahrivar was born in Tehran in November 1982. At the age of one she came with her parents to Germany, where she grew up in Aachen. She gained fame mainly as a model and beauty queen. She also tried her hand as a moderator and actress, appearing in TV shows such as “Promi Shopping Queen” and “Deutschland tanzt”.
