Eva Mendes didn’t want to fight anymore

Eva Mendes fans have been missing out on movies starring the actress for a while now that she’s left Hollywood. In an interview, the 48-year-old now explains the reason for this and it has something to do with her heritage.
Eva Mendes has no plans to return to acting anytime soon. In an interview with the industry magazine “Variety,” she said on the sidelines of an event, “I don’t really miss it.”
Mendes started her film career in the 1990s and in the years that followed she appeared in films like “2 Fast 2 Furious” or “Hitch – The Date Doctor”. Her last film to date, Lost River, the directorial debut of her partner Ryan Gosling, came out in 2014. Nearly a decade later, she now says, “It was exhausting fighting for the good parts.”

She briefly flirted with the idea of becoming a producer herself: “There was a moment when I thought, ‘I’m going to create my own opportunities and become a producer and make my own material,’ but it didn’t cost me the feeling that it was the was worth to me.”
Shortly after, Mendes, who has been in a relationship with Hollywood darling Gosling since 2011, became a mother for the first time at age 40. “Oh, I have to do that now,” she thought then. She has never actually wanted children, she revealed on an Australian radio show in 2020. “I never wanted to have a baby until I fell in love with Ryan,” she said there. The couple now have two daughters, seven-year-old Esmeralda and Amanda, who is a year younger.
Today, there are more opportunities for Latina actresses, Mendes explains. “But when I left ten years ago, I wasn’t offered roles that weren’t specifically Latina.” However, a comeback is also not completely out of the question: “It is exciting that it is different now, so who knows what I will do in the future. But for now I will stay at home with my children.”
