Outbursts of anger, insults and psychological violence: Farmer Patrick’s behavior unleashes a shit storm. In this episode of the ntv podcast “Ditt & Datt & Dittrich” Verena and Axel Max talk about the lowlands of the German trash TV landscape.

Andrej Mangold, Lisha Savage, Mike Cees, some Eric Sindermann and now single farmer Patrick Romer: All of these behavioral summer house candidates are considered highly problematic reality TV participants. Manipulations, outbursts of anger, insults far below the midline and psychological violence are only part of what is expected of the viewer.

This toxic, antisocial behavior has little to do with the popular trash TV showdown. Yet it is apparently still desired by TV makers, as the current production of “Summer House of the Stars” also targets couples who should be in therapy rather than on television.

In this episode of the ntv podcast “Ditt & Datt & Dittrich”, Verena and Axel Max talk about the bachelor farmer’s verbal blunders towards his lady-in-waiting Antonia, the much-discussed dispute between Eric Sindermann and his ex-girlfriend Katharina Hambuechen and the desire for reality. TV candidates who have more to offer than foreign embarrassment and escalation.

The two wonder, among other things, why reality TV shows are increasingly escalating and why extremely polarizing characters are constantly given a stage. Is it really what many critics say, which is that bad behavior is one of the basic requirements for starting a successful career as a reality star?

An announcement: The seventh season of “Das Sommerhaus der Stars” is on RTL. There are entire “summerhouse” episodes on RTL+, not only to catch up on, but also to see seven days in advance.
