Queen’s cottage for rent on Airbnb

Holidaymakers can live in a very special place at the Queen’s estate in the English county of Norfolk. The gardener’s former home can now be booked on Airbnb along with the park. However, the audience is huge.

Sleeping very close to the queen – you can now. A cottage on Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham Estate has been advertised on Airbnb. This is the former home of the Queen’s master gardener.

The estate in the English county of Norfolk is privately owned by the British royal family. The charming cottage has four bedrooms, six beds and can sleep eight people on two floors. The rooms are decorated with furniture and paintings, all from the Royal Collection and once housed in a royal residence.

Numerous photos on the platform show what the accommodation looks like. From the outside the cottage is attractive with its ivy-clad walls, the furnishings are relatively simple compared to the owners: cream colored sofas, wooden furniture, a fireplace. A U-shaped fitted kitchen can accommodate a whole squadron of butlers, but is not equipped with the latest conveniences. However, they should offer china crockery for five o’clock tea. The wood-paneled tub also beats a more mundane shower cubicle by far.

Maximum three dogs allowed

A particular highlight is the Sandringham Estate Gardens and Parks area. Pets are also allowed – up to three dogs, but keep them on a lead when walking in the “formal” yard. Parties and smoking in the house are prohibited.

If you want to make your dream of vacation with the Queen come true, you have to be patient: there are still a few appointments available at the end of next year. The minimum length of stay is three nights, currently charged at £1062, the equivalent of approximately £408 per night. However, you should not expect the 96-year-old queen to welcome guests in person, as is often the case with other Airbnbs.
