Actually, Britain’s Princes William and Harry are at odds. To the applause of the astonished crowd, the two and their wives make their first public appearance at Windsor Castle. It would have been preceded by an invitation from William.
Reunited in mourning for their grandmother: After months of public radio silence, the two feuding British Princes William and Harry have made their first public appearance together. Along with their wives Kate and Meghan, the heir to the British throne and his younger brother surprisingly came to Windsor Castle and looked at the sea of flowers together in memory of the late Queen.
To the applause of the astonished crowd, the two couples, dressed all in black, walked down the long avenue through the grounds of Windsor Castle. In front of the castle gates they shook hands, spoke to the mourners and received flowers. After Harry and Meghan’s retirement from the front row of the royal family and their move to Meghan’s native California, the relationship between the two brothers had cooled considerably. A setback was the spectacular American television interview in which Harry and Meghan accused the royal family of racism. William sharply rejected the accusation at the time.
British media, citing anonymous royal sources, reported that Prince William had invited his brother and his wife to join him and his wife Kate to watch floral greetings to their late grandmother. Already the night before, King Charles III. made an indirect peace offer to his youngest son and wife in his maiden speech as king, speaking fondly of Harry and Meghan.
The couple currently reside at Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle, a stone’s throw from Williams and Kate’s new home, Adelaide Cottage. According to British media, the couple had no plans to meet despite their physical proximity – until the death of the 96-year-old queen on Thursday. Harry and Meghan are now widely expected to stay until the Queen’s funeral service on September 19.
