Actor Tom Hardy has won his second BJJ tournament.

In the world of Hollywood, actors will often have to embark on interesting journeys to learn new skills for upcoming roles. Whether it’s new sports, learning an artistic skill, or learning to sing, actors sometimes need to fully immerse themselves in a role. Actor Tom Hardy had to learn mixed martial arts for his previous roles, and that seems to have stuck.

In 2011, Hardy played an MMA fighter in the movie “Warrior.” For the role, he had to learn different martial arts including Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He had to get into sports and keep going. He now shows up at BJJ tournaments and wins.

According Fox Sports, Hardy took part in a BJJ Oakgrove School tournament in Milton Keynes on Saturday. While showing up at this local BJJ event, many people were surprised to see the actor compete and win. Hardy walked away with the gold medal and the respect of the crowd.

“He was brilliant. A lot of people were asking for pictures and coming to see him, and he had no problem with any of that. Moms were all over him. It didn’t bother him,” event sponsor Sean Rosborough told The sun. “And when he was fighting, he was focused on what he was doing. He is amazing at Jiu-Jitsu.

This is the second gold medal for Hardy who competed at another local event in August. Hardy is a huge combat sports fan and can often be seen attending events when he’s not training. He posted pictures of himself training BJJ and punching at both Great Britain Top Team or Elevate Martial Arts.
